Diving in Noumea

Diving in Noumea is ideal for beginners, training, or relaxed exploring. Diving in New Caledonia always consists of two successive boat dives near the reef or in the passes. The passes of Boulari, Dumbéa, Mato, Ducati, and Uitoé are particularly excellent for meeting eagle rays, stingrays, napoleons, turtles, and whitetip sharks. Between January and April, manta rays frequent this area, grey reef sharks migrate here between April and June, and in November, divers can observe a large concentration of loggerhead sea turtles spawning along the drop-off. Noumea is also home to some excellent wreck dives. One of the best dive sites in Noumea is Aiguille de Prony, an amazing pyramid-shaped pinnacle that starts at 38 m deep and rises just 3 m from the surface.
