Diving the Turneffe Atoll

The Turneffe Atoll is the largest and most biodiverse of the three islands. It has over 200 tiny cayes covered in mangroves, with big areas of lagoons and flats that allow for a dense fish population. A must-visit dive site is The Elbow, with swift currents that bring large pelagic fish. Also, go diving in The Aquarium, which takes its name because you will feel you are swimming inside an aquarium, with clear water and numerous reef fish. You can’t miss diving in Triple Anchors, where you’ll find beautiful coral formations and scattered remains of an 18th-century vessel.
