Diving the Western Solomon Islands

Diving in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands offers some fantastic WWII historical dive sites, colorful hard-coral covered reefs, and phenomenal wall diving. You can find some of the best diving in the Solomon within the Western Province. The most popular islands to base your Solomon diving adventure on are Ghizo, Vangunu, and New Georgia.

The islands of Ghizo and New Georgia are a WWII wreck divers paradise. Due to the Solomon Islands’ heavy use as a base in WWII, hundreds of wrecks lay throughout the islands, with some of the most heavily concentrated areas within these two islands. Besides exploring these historical wrecks, divers will also enjoy spectacular drop-offs to over 600 meters, where you can find patrolling reef sharks and exciting drift diving.

A Solomon Islands diving trip is not complete without visiting the largest saltwater lagoon in the world, Marovo Lagoon.
